| TruPower’s
Woodworking courses have become a favorite among students.
George Vondriska, our Woodworking instructor, teaches students
in a very down to earth manner, and he has also been known
to say “everyone is trainable”.
George is more than an expert in the field
of Woodworking; he is nationally recognized, and is the contributing
editor and writer for American Woodworker Magazine. In addition
to regularly appearing in the magazine, George also develops
topics for show demonstrations and courses and oversees their
implementation.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science
degree in Industrial Education, George has over 16 years of
experience teaching Woodworking to students at varying skill
levels. Also adding to his credentials, he has done a lot
of curriculum development for new courses and has also taught
other instructors. Some of the many, many courses that George
has taught include cabinetmaking, furniture making, chair
making, and lathe turning.
George’s dedication and love of the
Woodworking trade had shown through when he worked in the
Peace Corp teaching rural high school students at a facility
that had no electricity or running water. He also developed
a curriculum for nationwide implementation and trained new
volunteers for the Corp.
Although teaching has been a main focus
for George, he also continues to build custom furniture and
cabinets for various clients. As with all of our other instructors,
we are very honored to have George as part of the TruPower
team!
